本研究提案は、モノアミン系伝達物質が、弱視に対する薬理学的治療の可能性について検討することを目的とする。幼若期から、方位制限および形状視制限メガネ(パターンが見えないメガネ)を装着して飼育した成熟ネコにおいて、カテコールアミンが眼優位可塑性を回復し、セロトニンが臨界期に形成された反応選択性を回復する効果があることを確認した。
