既存の選挙に基づく間接民主主義の制度に対して、インターネットの普及に代表される情報環境の大きな変化が実現可能とした仮想市場による直接的民主主義や住民参加の場で参加者を無作為選出し、ミニ・ポピュラスによる徹底した議論によって政策決定を行っていく討議的民主主議といった新しい民主主義制度を、マルチエージェントシミュレーションによって構築した仮想的な社会システムモデルの中で適用し、それらの制度間の比較分析を行うことで、新しい民主主義の制度設計のための基礎的な知見を実証的に明らかにする。
