視線・姿勢制御を司る前庭神経核ニューロンの電気生理学的膜特性、自発発火特性をラットin vivo標本でのホールセル記録により調べた。その結果、これまでin vitroスライス標本において得られていた電気生理学的膜特性に関する知見がin vivoにおいても確認され、さらに自発発火が規則的に発生するのか否かは、膜特性の一つであるスパイク後過分極のタイプの違いに依存していることが明らかになった。
