本研究計画は、当該年度において、(1)特定国のグローバリゼーション状況を現地で確認すること、(2)グローバリゼーション論を哲学的歴史理論の文脈において的確に位置づけることに焦点を当てた。(1)としては、昨年度の南京・カイロに続き、クロアチアのザグレブを訪問し、有識者や一般の人々との対話(ドイツ語か通訳を通じて)を試みた。ザグレブ大学哲学研究所にて口頭で簡単な発表を行い、同研究所スタッフを中心とした参会者の反応をうかがうことができた。その口頭発表のドイツ語原稿は、勤務先の学内誌に発表が予定されている。クロアチアは地政学的・歴史的な事情からセルビアと緊張関係にあるが、ユーゴ内戦の痕跡は今回の視察では見られず、伝統的な生活様式を守りながら、穏やかにグローバリゼーション状況に適合しようという一般的な態度が観察された。(2)としては、1960年代以降主流となっている物語り論的歴史/自己理解が、総体として1980年前後を一つの転機とするグローバリゼーション状況の進展を背景に流布してきたことを明らかにした。それゆえに、哲学的歴史理論としてのグローバリゼーション論は、物語り論が自己の成立前提にまで遡及し自己徹底することによって形成されるものであるとの結論に到達した。その立論は『岩波講座哲学』第11巻「歴史/物語の哲学」に収録予定(すでにゲラ刷が出ている)の「9・11以降、歴史を語ること」に集約して発表されることになる。
