At the end of Heian Period, Nara Toudaiji was burnt down and its reconstruction took place. Concomitantly Kamakura Buddhism was formed. It could be referred to as a kind of Renaissance in Japan. This study explores the works of Kaikei who lived through such a period and his human and religious network.
