伝統的な経済学では合理的な主体からなる市場で競争が行き渡ればある種の最適な状態が実現されることが示され, この命題が規制緩和などの競争政策の基盤となっている。本研究では,主体の合理性に限界があるという想定の下で, 伝統的な市場モデルを特殊ケースとして含む包括的なモデルをシミュレーションすることにより, 競争政策の基盤となっている命題とは異なる市場のヴィジョンを示した。具体的には, i) 消費者の合理性の度合いに応じて「平和共存」, 「寡占」, 「独占」という3つの局面の現れること, ii)どの局面においても消費者と生産者が共に満足できるような最適な状態は存在しないことなどである
