本研究は、金融経済学の中で、マーケット・マイクロストラクチャーと呼ばれる分野の研究であり、株式の売買システムのうち指値注文市場についての理論的分析を行った。指値注文市場において、注文流入が偏った場合には、注文流入の多い側においてより積極的な気配が設定され、その結果ビッド・アスク・スプレッドが狭くなる、また呼値の刻みが相対的に粗い下では、注文流入の多い側の板が厚くなることがわかった。また、取引所が時間優先ルールを適用するとともに呼値の刻みを細かくすると、指値注文間の価格競争が促進され、ビッド・アスク・スプレッドがより狭くなることが確かめられた。
