実時間で非線形最適制御問題を解いてフィードバック制御を行う非線形Receding Horizon制御(RH制御)に関して, 計算効率の向上, 体系的な調整手法, そして応用を進めた. まず, 最適性条件と離散近似の関係に注意した差分近似により計算量をほとんど増やさず精度を向上させた. また, 出力応答の望ましさと制御入力の大きさとの兼ね合いを一つのパラメータで調整する手法を検討し有効性を確認した. 応用に関しては, 自動車の衝突回避問題と鉄鋼の冷間圧延プロセスにおける板厚・張力制御を扱いシミュレーションによって有効性を確かめた
