Functional analysis of magnesium transport proteins in plant chloroplasts

本研究对植物叶绿体蛋白分子的镁离子转运功能进行了分析。在大肠杆菌中表达植物蛋白，并用适当的洗涤剂进行纯化。将从拟南芥中分离的AtMRS2-10重组为脂质体，并用荧光染料和原子吸收光谱分析了脂质体对镁离子的转运活性。该系统可以首次测量植物蛋白的镁离子转运活性。

We have analyzed the Mg^<2+> transport function of plant chloroplast protein molecules in this study. Plant proteins were expressed in Escherichia coli, and purified using an appropriate detergent. Isolated AtMRS2-10 from Arabidopsis thaliana was reconstituted into liposomes, and Mg^<2+> transport activity into liposomes was assayed using a fluorescent dye and with atomic absorption spectroscopy. This system allows first measurement of Mg^<2+> transport activity of plant protein.
