エストロジェンに対する下垂体前葉のプロラクチン産生細胞の増殖反応には著しい系統差が見られる。本研究はこの系統差の発現機構の解明を目指した。エストロジェン高反応性のWistar系および低反応性のWistar-Kyoto系のラットの下垂体初代培養細胞を実験モデルとして用いた。多くの増殖刺激を培養プロラクチン細胞を用いて調べた結果、insulin-like growth factor-Iに対する増殖反応性の違いが系統差発現に関与することが示唆された。
