ヒトでは若年の満期妊娠は、未産婦に比して生涯にわたる乳癌の発生を抑える。ラットでも若齢妊娠による乳癌抑制は認められ、エストロゲンとプロゲステロン(E/P)の短期(3週;ラットの妊娠期間に相応)投与でも再現される。しかし、その機序は未だ不明である。今回、乳腺間質(脂肪織)の脂肪酸組成の変動に着目し、乳癌抑制効果の機序解明に取り組んだところ、経産乳腺ではリノール酸組成の有意の減少をみた。
