Fontan循環での肺血管局所におけるエンドセリンシステムの役割を明らかにするため、Fontan術後死亡例の肺組織を用いて、免疫組織学的解析と定量的リアルタイムPCR解析により、エンドセリンとその受容体の発現解析を行った。結果は、エンドセリン-1、エンドセリン受容体type A、type B全てが、Fontan後死亡例において正常対照に比して発現が亢進していた。受容体の発現亢進の報告は初めてのものである。
