项目摘要

本研究は、(1)ピエール・ボナール[1867-1947]の風景画の特徴を、素描と完成作の比較を通して作品の制作過程から明らかとすること、さらに、(2)これまで閑却されてきた、本画家の絵画の造形的展開における印象派の影響を具体的に明らかにすることを目的としている。なぜなら、以上のように、独自の意図や文脈に寄り添った解釈を行うことは、今後のボナール研究の土台を築き、現在の近代美術にしに置けるバランスを欠いた研究状況を補完することとなると確信するためである。そのため、当該年度は、(1)に関して、(1)これまでに収集した素描データとカタログ・レゾネを対照させて、下絵素描と完成作の対応関係を列挙し、作品ごとの所蔵先、掲載元、年代、サイズ、技法等の情報を含めたリストを作成すこと、(2)リストアップした下絵と完成作の両者のうち、可能なものに関しては随時実見調査し、作品生成過程復元に向けて比較、分析を行うこと、(2)に関して、(3)フランス国立図書館、ポンピドゥー・センター内公共図書館での調査を中心に、刊行資料に散在する画家の言葉と同時代証言をまとめること、(4)19世紀後半から20世紀初頭にかけての印象主義に関する批評を中心に精読するとともに、必要な一次資料を絞り込むこと、以上4点を実施計画に挙げた。(1)について、とりわけ、ヤマザキマザック美術館の素描コレクションの中から、その他刊行資料掲載の素描と関連のある作品や、レゾネ掲載の油彩画と対応する作例をリストに加えることが出来た。(2)に関して、フランスでの実見調査を経て、4枚の下絵素描が確認されている《松の森》という作品の具体的な制作過程の復元を試み、下記の通り口頭発表、論文発表を行った。(3)に関しては、画家の言葉を容易に検索、引用できるよう整理を未だ継続中であるが、(4)については、アンドレ・ロートの著作(Traite du Paysage,1939)の精読や、Nouvelle Revue Francaise,Formesなどの同時代批評の収集を進めている。
