前年度から取り組んでいた、宣長の朝鮮への視座という問題にかんしては、上代文学会の学術誌『上代文学』102号(2009年4月)に、「『古事記伝』が作った「皇大宮の始り」の物語-「韓国」は「空国」なり-」として掲載されたことに続いて、次に、韓国学会に向けての発信を試みた。2009年4月18日、韓国外国語大学(韓国ソウル市所在)で開かれた韓国日語日文学会春季学術大会における口頭発表は、そうした目論見の切り口であった。報告の題目は「「韓」の痕跡と否定-宣長を読む立場から-」とし、上記の投稿論文の前提になる問題意識、すなわち、「韓」をめぐる論争に焦点を絞ったものである。要は、宣長の時代の知識人にとって、「韓」そのものは主題や関心事ではなかったこと、彼らが意識していたカラとはあくまで「漢」であったことを、当代の一般認識(彼らの「常識」)の検討から明らかにした。そのカラに対する強い反発ないし克服が、宣長の「皇国(ミクニ)」という問題につながっていることは、いうまでもない。『古事記伝』が、「原典」としての『古事記』に求めた「皇国」の「古代」の意味を、そこに見出すことができる。以上の内容は、「本居宣長の「韓」-近世日本の古代論-」として、韓国日語日文学会の学術誌『日語日文学研究』第70輯2巻(2009年8月)に投稿し、掲載された次第である。
