The improvement of the Support system to decode excavated historical documents and the development of the comprehensive research center database

除了通过大大提高字符识别精度使译码支持系统“Mokkanshop”达到更高的运行水平外，还实现了在多个偏远地点之间实时协作共享数据的系统投入运行的前景。此外，通过(1)提供有效的数据积累手段，利用注释工具和开发文化财产的可见光和红外线摄影的特殊镜头，(2)丰富了考古特征年代数据库等知识库，(3)采用Adobe Flash技术制作了外文版本，以及(4)通过与东京大学史学研究所实施综合搜索系统，并将该技术应用于墨刻陶字词典，实现了将木刻文字词典发展成为研究核心数据库的手段，从而使该系统更具通用性。通过这些成就，木质文件研究的专门知识正在以广泛的方式回馈社会，并为木质文件的“知识螺旋”提供了前景，在这种情况下，研究成果被用作开辟新知识之路的工具。

In addition to taking the decoding support system "Mokkanshop" to a higher order of operation by greatly enhancing its character recognition precision, the prospect was achieved of putting into operation a system of real-time collaborative sharing of data among multiple remote locations. In addition, development of the Wooden Tablet Character Dictionary into a core atabase for research has been realized through (1) providing means for efficient data accumulation, with an annotation tool and the development of a special lens for visible and infrared light photography of cultural properties, (2) enriching groups of knowledge bases such as a database of the chronological ages of archaeological features, (3) incorporating Adobe Flash technology and making a foreign language version, and (4) making the system more all-purpose by actualizing an integrated search system together with the University of Tokyo's Historiographical Institute, and by applying the technology to the Ink-inscribed Pottery Character Dictionary. Through these achievements, know-how from research on wooden documents is being given back to society in broad fashion, and prospects have been gained for a "knowledge spiral" regarding wooden documents, in which research results are utilized as tools for opening paths to new knowledge.
