A Study of Structural Changes in China about State and Substratum Society between Sino-Japanese War and the Early People's Republic of China.

在第一年，我们举办了一个研讨会，“战争时期农村社会的比较研究”，以分享对问题的认识并确定主题。去年我们举办了“战争与社会变革”国际研讨会，旨在使讨论国际化。然后我们通过期刊文章、学术会议和书籍的方式发表这些结果，以及每位学者发表的结果，如下所示。这些研究阐明了：(1)长期全面战争影响下的底层社会变迁过程；(2)在与日本比较的基础上阐明了中国特色。目前，我们正在准备发表文集。

In the first year we conducted a workshop, "the comparative study on rural society during the war time", in order to share an awareness of the problem and define the theme. In the last year we held international symposium, "the war and social change", which aims to internationalize the discussion. Then we published each of those results as well as each scholar published the outcomes by the means of journal articles, academic conferences, and books as below. Those studies clarified 1) the process of changing substratum societies which are affected by the long-term total war and 2) the Chinese features based on the comparison with Japan. At the present time, we are preparing for publishing collected papers.
