平成22年度は、研究プロジェクトの三年目にあたり、前年度に引き続き、ネヴィル・ケインズの日記のマイクロフィルムのトランスクリプションを継続した。現段階で、すべてのトランスクリプションが完了していないものの、これまでに、ネヴィル・ケインズの主著『形式論理学』初版(1884)出版に至る経緯が明らかとなった。750部印刷された同著は、彼がケンブリッジ大学での講義録をまとめたものであったが、その受講生の少なさから、マクミランは当初、印刷費用の負担を要求した。ところが出版してみると、売れ行きはきわめて良好で、印刷費の負担は事実上消滅すると同時に、第二版出版が1887年に実現する。この改訂に際しては、教え子のWilliam Ernest Johnsonの助力を得た。彼は、ネヴィルの息子、John Maynard Keynes が、キングズ・コレッジに入寮した1902年から、同コレッジのフェローとなり、モラルサイエンスのシジウィック講師として、メイナードに大いに影響を与えることになる。今後、19世紀から20世紀への転換期におけるケインズ経済学形成前史を理解する上で不可欠の知見が蓄積されることとなった。
