This study investigated the incidence of patients' violence toward healthcare workers and its psychological influences. We collected complete answers from 953 doctors, 6987 nurses, 1663 nursing-support workers, and 2254 clerks for analysis. Prevalence of violence in their career was about 60%, and that in previous 12 months was about 20% among doctors and nurses. Some of healthcare workers with an experience of violence (9.4% of doctors, 7.4% of nurses, 8.6% of nursing-support workers) exceeded the cut off score of IES-R-J (25 point) set for screening PTSD.

本研究旨在探讨病患对医护人员的暴力行为发生率及其心理影响。我们收集了953名医生、6987名护士、1663名护理辅助人员和2254名办事员的完整答案进行分析。在医生和护士的职业生涯中，暴力的发生率约为60%，而在过去的12个月里，这一比例约为20%。一些有暴力经历的医护人员（9.4%的医生，7.4%的护士，8.6%的护理支持人员）超过了筛查PTSD的IES-R-J分值（25分）。
