ロドコッカス属細菌に多数の抗生物質生産菌が存在することを示し、特にロドコッカスエリスロポリス(Rhodococcus erythropolis)に多くの活性株が存在することを明らかにした。またR. erythropolis JCM 6824から、グラム陽性菌に対し非常に高い活性を示す新規の抗生物質aurachin REを発見し、構造決定を行った。さらにこの生合成に関わる遺伝子も単離した。これら抗生物質、遺伝子はいずれもRhodococcus属由来として初めての報告である。さらにR. erythropolis DSM 11397、R. erythropolis JCM 2895の各株からもそれぞれ新規の抗生物質、抗菌タンパクを発見した。

Most of the antibiotics-producing strains of Rhodococcus spp. exist, especially among the active strains.またR. Erythropolis JCM 6824 is a new antibiotic with high activity and structure determination. Today, the production of synthetic drugs is related to the production of drugs. The origin of Rhodococcus genus is reported in this paper.さらにR. erythropolis DSM 11397、R. Erythropolis JCM 2895 has been released with new antibiotic substances and antibacterial drugs.
