Rabies control in Bohol Island (Philippines)

本研究的目的是建立菲律宾狂犬病监测系统，并利用从该国各地区收集的动物脑样本进行分子流行病学分析。通过基因分析，我们发现：1)由于狂犬病毒是输入到菲律宾的，所以在岛上传播的病毒很少；2)病毒在地理上隔离的地区往往被拒之外。3)区域控制策略可能对消除狂犬病有效。

The aims of this study were to consist the monitoring system of the rabies in the Philippines and to conduct the molecular epidemiology analysis using the animal brain samples collected from each region in the country. As the result of the genetic analysis, we found out 1) Since rabies virus has been imported to the Philippines, the transfer of the virus over the island were few 2) viruses were tend to be kept out in the geographically isolated area. 3) the control strategy conducted by the area might be effective for eliminate the rabies.
