The experience of home-based medical and nursing care for elderly couples comprised "Intimacy and mutual support between husband and wife","Prospect of an unsteady future and lifestyle adjustment","Reliable people and services for the couple" and "How to live in old age and synthesis of beliefs about life". Elderly couples reflected on their lives, reconstructed their relationship as a couple, and decided how to live in old age by synthesizing their values and beliefs about life. In addition to sound techniques in nursing care support, care providers need to support elderly couples by enabling them to express their thoughts about their lives and by providing close support adapted to the lifestyle of the elderly couple in accordance with the capacity of the carer and the person receiving care.

老年夫妇的居家医疗护理体验包括“夫妻亲密无间、相互支持”、“对不稳定未来的展望及生活方式的调整”、“为夫妇提供可靠的人与服务”及“如何安享晚年及综合生活信念”。老年夫妇反思他们的生活，重建他们作为夫妇的关系，并通过综合他们对生活的价值观和信念来决定如何度过晚年。除了完善的护理支持技术外，护理提供者还需要支持老年夫妇，使他们能够表达对自己生活的想法，并根据照顾者和接受护理的人的能力，提供适应老年夫妇生活方式的密切支持。
