项目摘要

本研究は、昨年度に続いてカンボジアにおける通貨代替の検証を目的にして行われた。昨年度の研究は、通貨代替の問題を扱った先行研究を基にして構築されたモデルを推計することによって進められた。構築されたモデルは、消費者たる個人の最適化行動を記述するモデルであり、そうした個人の効用関に関して、自国通貨と外国通貨の両方が独立変数として含まれることとネットワーク外部性が仮定された。そして、消費者の効用最大化問題を解くことによって導かれる推計式に含まれるパラメータの推計がカンボジアのデータを用いて行われた。分析結果から、カンボジアにおける通貨代替には履歴効果が存在することが示されている。含意として、こうした状況にあるカンボジアにおける通貨代替の深刻な問題を解決するためには慎重に政策を行なうべきであることが指摘される。今年度は、主に昨年度の分析結果の改善とカンボジアの状況に合った通貨代替の問題を解決するための政策を探るために、学会の場を用いて研究成果を報告し、他の研究者との意見交換を行うことなどを通して研究活動を行った。具体的には、分析結果を改善するために、再度カンボジアに赴いて可能な限りリバイスされたデータの状況を確認し、収集活動を行った。さらに、他の研究者との意見交換を行うために、国際学会である「The 12th International Convention of the East Asian Economic Association」で研究成果の報告を行った。最後に、この研究で得られた結果と意見交換などで得られた視点に基づいて、通貨代替の問題に直面している他の国の経験を考察しながら、カンボジアにおける通貨代替の問題を解決するための政策に関する議論を行った。

This study aims at identifying the causes of currency substitution in the past year. The research on currency substitution in the past year has been carried out on the basis of theoretical analysis.
