本研究の成果として、まず一点目は、地域研究・高等教育研究・言語政策研究の分野において、既存の理論や先行研究を考察し、日韓における英語による高等教育プログラム(EMIDP : English Medium Instruction Degree Program)を分析するための複層的な理論的枠組を提示したことである。EMIDPを国際関係理論の文脈で解釈・提示し、現在の東アジア高等教育国際化への視点(従属論)と変容過程(構成主義と「地域の創造」)の関連を明らかにした。また、インターネットによる量的調査を通して日韓の全大学におけるEMIDPの全容を明らかにし、すべてのEMIDPの属性やカリキュラム、在籍学生の国籍、日本語1韓国語学習要件などのデータ別に、形態分析と類型化(国内留学モデル、コスモポリタンクロスロードモデル、離層モデル)を行った。さらに、日韓における国家、EMIDP、留学生レベルでの分析を行い、国家レベルにおいては、英語教育政策、高等教育の国際化政策、各社会での英語言説の日韓分析を行った結果、高等教育政策の類似性(呼応性)と英語に関する社会的コンテクストの差異が明らかになった。次に高等教育機関レベルにおいては、各モデルの特徴や志向性を分析する中で、モデルの分布や位相に関する日韓比較を行い、日本や韓国で見られる多くのEMIDPは国内留学モデルで自国民のグローバル育成というナショナルな志向性を持ったプログラムが大多数であることを明らかにした。最後に、教職員・留学生への半構造化インタビュー(63名)とその分析を通し、EMIDPの様相や課題、周辺一中心構造に基づくネガティブな留学動機や留学生移動のアジア的周遊拠点としての役割、西洋(英語教育圏)的な教育方式や移動先国家の地域研究などへの期待と成果の齟齬など、複雑で複層的な志向性とジレンマを抱えていることから、英語+アジア言語の学びを実現するような地域的言語政策を高等教育の枠組の中で行うことを提言した。

The results of this research include: regional research, higher education research, and speech policy research; an examination of existing theories; and an analysis of the multi-layered theories of the English Medium Instruction Degree Program (EMIDP) in Japan and South Korea. EMIDP is the context of international relations theory. It suggests that the view point of internationalization of higher education in the present era (ontology) and the relationship between the process of transformation (constitutionalism and "creation of region") should be clarified. To investigate the quantity of EMIDP in Japanese and Korean universities, to clarify the content of EMIDP, to classify the attributes of EMIDP, to classify the nationality of students, to classify Japanese and Korean learning requirements, to classify morphological analysis (domestic students, to classify students, to classify students). Japan and South Korea: Country, EMIDP, Analysis of International Students, Country, English Education Policy, Internationalization Policy of Higher Education, Analysis of Japanese and South Korean English Speech in Different Societies, Similarity of Higher Education Policy, Differences of English-related Society. The characteristics and aspirations of secondary institutions of higher education are analyzed in the middle of the year, and the distribution and phase of education are compared between Japan and South Korea. Japan and South Korea have seen many EMIDPs studying in China. Most of them are aspirational. Finally, faculty, students, semi-structured applications (63), analysis, research on EMIDP, research topics, peripheral-centered structures, foundational development, motivation for studying abroad, mobility of students, regional studies, expectations, results, and differences.
