A study of applied linguistic anthropology for the enhancement of human development of the Deaf: Comparative study of sign languages and societies in African countries

在以前没有研究的西非法语区聋人社区，用田野调查的方法描述了手语、聋人文化和历史。此外，在系列讲习班中培训了非洲聋人研究人员，并成立了聋人研究小组。本项目的主要成果如下：1)收集了科特迪瓦和多哥的第一手资料。2)出版了科特迪瓦第一部手语词典。3)建立英、日、法世界手语在线数据库。4)非洲法语国家语言国际会议(LSAF)赞助商。(5)筹备非洲法语国家语言研究所成立工作小组的成立。

In the Deaf communities of French-speaking West Africa, where no previous research existed, the sign language, Deaf culture and history were described with the method of fieldwork. Also African Deaf researchers were trained in the serial workshops and the research team by the Deaf was founded. Main results of this project are as follow: 1) Collection of the firsthand information in Cote d'Ivoire and Togo. 2) Publication of the first sign language dictionary in Cote d'Ivoire. 3) Construction of the online database on world sign languages in English, Japanese and French. 4) Sponsor of the International Conference on Langue des Signes d'Afrique Francophone (LSAF). 5) Foundation of the Group for the preparation of the foundation of the Research Institute for Langue des Signes d'Afrique Francophone (LSAF).
