Multifaceted analysis of trade liberazation and technical regulations-policy design of consumer's safety and economic development

今天，随着贸易自由化的推进，安全标准、质量/性能标准和环境标准等技术法规变得越来越重要。这项研究建立了贸易和技术法规的数据库，并在跨国、市场、企业和消费者层面进行了实证分析。我们发现，作为技术法规的农药残留标准和兽药标准倾向于减少贸易，而作为国际标准的ISO标准鼓励企业的技术水平和出口，消费者对国内食品和那些农药残留和兽药标准更严格的产品的需求。

As trade liberalization proceeds today, technical regulations such as safety standards, quality/performance standards, and environmental standards, have been increasingly important. This research built databases on trade and technical regulations, and conducted empirical analyses at the cross-country, market, firmand consumer levels. We found that pesticide residue standards and veterinary drug standards as technical regulations tend to reduce trade that ISO standards as international standards encourage firms' technological level and export, and that consumers demand domestic food products and those with more stringent pesticide residue and veterinary drug standards.
