A Philological Study of the Indian Tantric Buddhist Funeral

本研究从以下四个方面对《印度密宗葬礼》进行了阐释：(1)对规定印度密宗丧葬程序的《密宗法师》进行了批判版和日文注释。根据《密宗》和其他一些相关的原始材料，对印度密宗佛教葬礼的内容进行了审查。(2)一些教导葬礼的赛瓦和吠陀经文也被检查过。密宗佛教和塞夫西姆之间的关系已经通过这两个宗教的葬礼的比较得到了部分解释。(3)对密宗葬礼背后的思想和教义进行了审查。

This research explains some aspects of Indian Tantric Funeral in the following four ways:(1) A critical edition and annotated Japanese translation of Sunyasamadhivajra's Mrtasugatiniyojana, which prescribes the procedure of Indian Tantric Buddhist funeral, have been made. Based upon the Mrtasugatiniyojana and some other related primary materials, the contents of the Indian Tantric Buddhist funeral have been examined. (2) Some of Saiva and Vedic texts teaching the funeral have also been examined. The relationship between Tantric Buddhism and Saivsim has partly been explained through the comparison of the funerals of these two religions. (3) The ideas and the doctrines behind the Tantric Buddhist funeral have been examined.
