A study on development of an AHS to support hearing impaired children withdevelopmental disability in learning fundamental arithmetic

最近的一项研究表明，可能存在发育性残疾的听障儿童。本研究以这些儿童为研究对象，旨在开发若干基础算术学习教材，以及适合学习者特点的电子学习系统。学习材料的范围从数字计数到基本的加减法，而学习系统的设计是根据学习者的能力，残疾的分类和水平，以及一种情绪或感觉来提供下一个推荐的材料。几次评价实验表明，该系统虽然还存在一些有待解决的问题，但在一定程度上增加了学习者的学习动机，提高了学习者的学习能力。

A recent research shows that there potentially exist hearing impaired children with developmental disability. Focusing on such children, this study aims to develop several learning materials on fundamental arithmetic and also an e-leaning system adaptive to learner-characteristics. The learning materials range from number counting up to basic addition and subtraction, while the learning system is designed to deliver next recommended materials according to learner’s abilities, classification and levels of disability, and a sort of emotion or feelings. Several evaluation experiments indicated that though there remain some problems to be solved, the system increased learner ’s motivation and improved his/her academic ability to some extent.
