2012年度は、引き続き、ウィリアムズ症候群の子どもの「はい・いいえ」の質問への回答傾向の研究の、ウィリアムズ症候群児と健常児の追加データ取得を行った。また、自閉症スペクトラム障害を持つ子どもを対象とした語用論に関する研究のデータ取得を開始した。今後も継続して定型発達児のデータを含め取得し、今年度中に結果をまとめる予定である。成人の自閉症者については、東京大学の熊谷晋一郎先生との共同研究を進めたが、予備実験の段階までしか至らなかった。今後は、本データの取得を実施する。研究実施に加えて、国際誌への論文投稿に必須である自閉症診断観察スケジュールという技法を習得するため渡豪した。研究理論の構築に関しては、自閉症スペクトラム障害とウィリアムズ症候群の比較という研究テーマの基礎情報をまとめるべく、「Social phenotypes of autism spectrum disorder and Williams syndrome:similarities and differences」というレビュー論文を執筆し、Frontiers in Psychologyという雑誌に掲載が許可され、既に出版された。この論文では、今まで全く異なると思われていた両疾患が、社会的認知やコミュニケーションの問題では似た傾向を持つ可能性を指摘した。それにより、人との関わりへの積極性という社会性においては異なる特徴を持つ両疾患だが、そこから類似した障害を持つに至る可能性があるという発達理論を展開した。
