项目摘要

平成25年度、研究指導委託制度によってウズベキスタン共和国科学アカデミー歴史学研究所に在籍し、現地での史料収集とその分析を進めた。査読つき学術雑誌『内陸アジア史研究』28号に昨年度投稿した論文「帝政ロシア支配期のクルグズの社会経済的変容」が掲載され、本論文によって内陸アジア史学会賞を受賞した。中央アジア史の歴史研究に歴史GIS(地理情報システム)という新たな手法を導入した点などが、特に意欲的であるとの評価を受けた。2012年のアジア歴史地理情報学会の国際会議(東京大学にて開催)における発表をもとに、同学会の学術雑誌 Journal of Asian Network for GIS-based Historical Studies, Vol. 1 (Nov. 2013)に"How did the Nomads Act in the 1916 Revolt in Russian Turkistan?"と題する英文論文を投稿し、査読の結果掲載された。本論文は、第一次世界大戦中の中央アジアで発生した1916年反乱における遊牧民の行動の背景を、歴史GISを用いて社会経済史的観点から分析したものであり、ロシア帝国の経済政策と反乱における遊牧民の行動に一定の相関性があることを示した。昨年度の同学会の国際会議(2013年12月京都大学)では、The Economy of Ferghana in Transition, 1917-1929と題する報告を行った。本発表は歴史GISを利用した地域経済の通時分析という手法を採用し、内戦末期の1920年代後半には、中央アジア経済の中心であるフェルガナ地方における綿花モノカルチャーは、ロシア帝国期を超える集約性を有していたこと、それがソビエト政権の半強制的な経済政策の結果であり、地域の食糧不足を長引かせたことを明らかにした。また、2013年9月10日～16日にかけて研究対象地域であるフェルガナ地方において文書収集及び聞き取り調査を実施し、帝政期からソ連期の農業に関する資料の収集を行った。
