Merchant Network of the Hanseatic City of Lubeck in the Fourteenth Century

The Hansa (Hanseatic League) was the organization of merchants and cities which traded in the North and Baltic Seas in the Middle Ages. The central city of the Hansa was the northern German port town Lubeck on the south coast of the Baltic Sea. This research makes it clear that a relationship between merchants and the group of political leaders in the Hanseatic Cities, by analyzing social networks of merchants of Lubeck in the fourteenth century, based on the methods of Social Network Analysis and Prosopography.
