Tactics of Popular Culture between the Social Space and ReligiousPractice in Mexico: The case of Saint Death

作为墨西哥大众文化的死亡圣徒崇拜具有以下特点：1）侵占现有的文化资源，包括被赋予负面形象的泰皮托区等社会空间; 2）为信徒提供一种从属的社会等级身份; 3）动摇现有的文化范畴。另一方面，邪教在全球、国家和地方层面上都有口头表现，其特点是通过不确定的口头解释进行分类。同时也证实了在少数宗教运动中存在着合法性与异端性的分类，制度化运动更具有社会的制裁性。

The Cult of Saint Death as the Mexican Popular Culture has following characteristics.1)Appropriating the existing cultural resources including social space such as Tepito districtgranted with negative image, 2)providing an identity of subordinate social ranks to their Believers, and 3) swaying the existing cultural category. On the other hands, the Cult possesses verbal manifestations at global, national, and local levels, characterized as categorization by uncertain verbal explanation. At the same time, it has confirmed that in the movement of minorityreligion, there are some categories about legitimacy and heresy, and that there is more social sanction to the institutional movement.
