Yuzo Yamamoto's "Stone of the Roadside(ROBOH NO ISHI)"(1937) was a Bildungsroman which makes the Meiji 30s the stage. It was read with pleasure by the layer broad till the Showa 30s, and achieved the function as folk educational media. This research analyzed the "exclusion from education system" problem on the topic of this novel. The solution which this novel showed was not the inclusion to an education system or to a cooperative community but the possibility of the "independence and self-respect" by accumulation of social capital.

山本雄三的《路边之石》（1937）是一部以明治30年代为舞台的成长小说。直到昭和30年代，它一直被广大民众所喜爱，并实现了作为民间教育媒体的功能。本研究分析了小说主题中的“教育系统排斥”问题。这部小说所展示的解决方案不是纳入教育体系或合作社，而是通过社会资本积累实现“独立和自尊”的可能性。
