项目摘要

雑誌『平凡』を軸に1950-60年代の勤労青少年文化を解明していくべく、前年度に引き続き文献調査・インタビュー調査を行った。インタビュー調査においては、雑誌『平凡』『明星』の関係者及び1950-60年代に勤労青少年としてサークル活動に関わった人々や実際に『平凡』読者と関わった人々にお話をうかがい、メディアの「送り手」「受け手」双方のオーラルヒストリーを収集した。これらの調査で得たデータの一部に考察を加えたライフヒストリー研究の成果を、第76回日本社会学会大会で報告した。また、前年度に引き続き、大衆文化や勤労青少年に関する先行研究を研鑽し、理論的見地からの検討を加えるべく社会学及び隣接諸分野の研究を行うとともに、戦後社会の中で勤労青少年文化を位置づけるべく政治史等の戦後史を研究した。先述の調査を次年度以降も続けるとともにこれらの諸分野から得た知見を加え次年度以降もその成果を発表していく。そして、上記の「送り手」「受け手」の相互作用から生み出された文化が戦後社会の中でどのような位置にあるのかを明らかにし、戦後日本社会を再検討していく。なお、娯楽雑誌を軸とした上記の勤労青少年文化に幅を持たせるとともにその文化的位置づけを検討するべく、上記の出版物とは異なる種類の出版物についても実証的見地から研究を行った。この成果は、2004年に刊行予定の単行本に収録される予定である。
