The main purpose of this research porject is to focus on how "TranslationStudies", a relatively new field of study, could collaborate withliterature in English in 20th and 21st centuries.Particularly during the centuries of world wars, representations of the negative side of history, the Holocaust for example, have been very much concerned with re-reading history. Translation Studies often refer to "others" to be iluminated through translation, as a result of which history is re-read. A writer such as Eva Hoffman, a second generation of the Holocaust survivor, is an interesting example translating herself in a second language while writing autobiographical works. In our age of globalization today, cross-cultural interactions of literature beyond the borders cannot do without translation. In this sense also, Translation Studies are particularly relevantand engaging.

本研究项目的主要目的是关注“翻译研究”这一相对较新的研究领域如何与20世纪和21世纪的英语文学合作。特别是在几个世纪的世界大战期间，对历史消极一面的描述，例如大屠杀，一直非常关注重新解读历史。翻译研究经常提到通过翻译来照亮“他者”，因此历史被重新阅读。像伊娃·霍夫曼（Eva Hoffman）这样的第二代大屠杀幸存者就是一个有趣的例子，她在写自传体作品时用第二种语言翻译自己。在全球化时代的今天，文学的跨文化交流离不开翻译。从这个意义上说，翻译研究是特别相关和引人入胜的。
