Exit of intracellular Porphyromonas gingivalis from gingival epithelial cells is associated with chronic periodontal desease

牙龈卟啉单胞菌已被报道为牙周炎的一个主要因素。牙龈假单胞菌通过内吞作用进入细胞，破坏细胞的各种功能。然而，牙龈假单胞菌的胞内运输在很大程度上是未知的。最近，我们发现牙龈假单胞菌通过胞内循环途径从细胞内杀死双胞菌而生存，并从感染的细胞中离开并重新进入邻近的细胞，这可能会导致持续感染。

Porphyromonas gingivalis has been reported to be a main factor for periodontitis. P. gingivalis enters cells by the endocytosis and damages to various cell functions. Nevertheless, intracellular traffic of P. gingivalis is largely unknown .Recently, We found that P. gingivalis utilizes endocytic recycling pathway for their survival from intracellular mechanism of killing bactria, and the organisms exit from infected cells and re-enter neighbouring cells, which may cause persistant infection.
