项目摘要

本研究課題の目的は、斜め読みを可能にするような、迅速で効率的な読み(文脈把握)のメカニズムの解明である。これまでの研究では、人は眼球も動かせないほど短時間だけ文を見た揚合であっても、大まかな文脈を把握できることが示されている(Asano & Yokosawa, 2011)。このことから、一字一句単語を順に読んで文を組み立てるのではなく、文中の複数の単語の意味情報の並列処理によって、ごく短時間で原型的な文脈表象(プロト文脈)が活性化されるメカニズムがあると考えられる。本研究ではプロト文脈の性質、特に非言語的な視覚表象との関係の解明を目指した。課題最終年度の平成25年度は、従来の実験方法を、脳波を指標に加えるなど改良し、神経心理学的視点を取り入れて、プロト文脈の性質について検討した。そして、理論の修正・発展につながる研究成果を得た。具体的には、1. 日本語の短文を200ミリ秒という短時間だけ画面に提示した場合でも、短時間提示された文のプロト文脈が迅速かつ自動的に処理されていることが、脳波計測データから確認された。2. 従来研究では、プロト文脈は、文中の単語の意味情報さえ取得できれば、語順などの統語情報の有無に関係なく同様に活性化されると考えられてきた。しかし脳波測定の結果から、語順情報がある場合とない場合では、どちらもプロト文脈は活性化するものの、処理のタイミングにずれがあることが分かった。このことは、プロト文脈処理に少なくとも2段階(または2種類)の処理が存在する可能性を示唆している。3. 興味深いことに、本研究の脳波測定の結果パタンには、脳波測定を用いて情景認知の意味処理について検討した先行研究の結果パタンと類似した部分があった。このことはプロト文脈処理が、少なくとも部分的には、情景認知のような非言語的視覚処理と基盤を共有している可能性を示唆する。

The purpose of this study is to clarify the possible and rapid development of context. The study of this topic is based on the observation of human eye movements in a short period of time (Asano & Yokosawa, 2011). The text is composed of two words and one sentence, and the meaning information of the plural words in the text is processed in parallel.
