项目摘要

本年度は以下の研究活動をおこなった。1. 道路工事のカカオ生産地域への影響カメルーン南部のカカオ生産地域では、アスファルトの舗装工事が進行中である。舗装工事は地域の人口構成、労働事情に変化を与えつつある。調査村内の人口構成は一時的であるが、外部者の数が増えてきている。彼らは道路工事の労働者として現地にやって来たからである。その結果、村の食料需要が上昇すると同時に農作物や非木材産物の販売で現金を得る村人が増えた。中には重要な資金源となっていたカカオ生産を見限って、狩猟活動に特化して獣肉販売に依存する者もいる。その販売先は、労働者だけでなく、乗り合いタクシーや伐採トラックの運転手、乗員など、舗装道路によって拡大し、多様化している。一方、食料を提供したり、販売したりして、自分の手元に残る農作物が減り、購入せざるをえない世帯が少なからず現れ始めた。また、一部の村人の中には、よそ者が一時的に住んでいる村に嫌気がさして、離れた場所に家を移す動きが見られる。このように道路工事の社会への影響（格差の問題、農業構造の変化、村の分離）が見られる。今後、人々の生活がどのように変わっていくのか、または、変わらないのか調査を続けていく必要がある。2. 国際農業開発研究センター（CIRAD）での研修フランスのモンペリにあるCIRADに短期研修生として3ヶ月近く滞在して、研究交流をおこなった。研究報告を通して、経済学、社会学、統計学など複数の学問領域を横断しながら、アフリカ農業の研究を進めている人々と議論をすることができ、今後の研究の方向性を見出せた。また、調査地域は違うものの、都市化の影響、作物の多様化、イノベーション、労働力確保の問題など、共通の問題意識を確認できた。
