项目摘要

本年度の研究課題遂行状況はほぼ計画の通りである。具体的な成果として、論文「『今昔物語集』非仏法部の形成―巻十「震旦付国史」を中心に―」(『国語と国文学』第91巻第4号、平成26年4月1日掲載)を執筆した。研究課題の中心的テーマとなる、院政期の説話集『今昔物語集』について、本作品の特徴とも言われている非仏法部を取り上げた。『今昔物語集』は仏伝から始まり、作品の半分以上が仏法説話で占められており、代表的な仏教文学と言われている。しかし、本作品が最も特徴的である点は、そのように仏法を中心的テーマとしているにも関わらず、仏法とは関わらない説話をほぼ同量抱えている点にある。この所謂丁非仏法部」は仏法部に比べ、構成や巻の意図が非常に錯綜しており、従来も多様な解釈が提示されてきた。本論文では、震旦部の非仏法部である巻十「国史」を中心として、中国正史からの影響や、それによる構成・配列の様相を明らかにした。また、その結果、天竺部や本朝部の非仏法部についても、震旦部からの影響のもとで構成され、説話が位置づけられている点を明らかにした。本論文は、『今昔物語集』という作品が、先行文献をどのように解釈し、構成し直し、作品を造り上げたのかという、作品生成の枠組みを提示したものである。この論文では、個々の作品における説話受容の手法を明らかにすると同時に、現在未踏査のまま残されている当該分野の資料も紹介しており、本年度における課題を果たしたものと考えている。
