This study describes the differences in environment and hospital bed management in 2 wards which have different ratios of single- and multiple-occupancy rooms on the basis of a before- after comparison in a redesigned hospital. The survey also took into account nursing activities and toilet support. The results indicated that room layouts could change the ease of bed control. Small number of beds per unit showed a tendency no need to admit patients requiring a high level of nursing care near the staff station. Toilet for each room encouraged patients' early rising and reduced nurses' toilet support activities. This presentation will provide a closer examination of the effects of a ward which has a high ratio of single bed room.

本研究通过对一所医院进行改造前后的比较，探讨了两个单人间和多人间比例不同的病房在环境和病床管理方面的差异。调查还考虑了护理活动和厕所支持。结果表明，房间布局可以改变床控制的难易程度。每个单位的床位数较少，显示出不需要收治需要高水平护理的患者的趋势。每个房间的厕所鼓励患者早起，减少护士的厕所支持活动。本报告将提供一个更密切的检查病房的影响，其中有一个高比例的单人床房间。
