平成２７年度の実施した研究からは概ね三つの成果を得ることが出来た。一つ目は、朝鮮半島で話されている朝鮮語族は、その系統進化のシグナルが極めて弱く、系統樹が推定不可能であることを確認した結果である。これは、朝鮮半島の言葉においては系統進化という考え方が適用出来ないことを意味し、これまで報告がなされた数々の言語系統研究の中では系統推定に失敗した唯一の事例である。この研究は、分野の成熟のためには、言語系統進化という現象の「普遍性」を繰り返し検証し、反例の数とその原因を見極めていく作業が必要不可欠であることを示した点で、有意義な成果であると思われる。二つ目は、発表にまでは至らなかったものの、これまで蓄積してきた日本語族とアイヌ語のデータを拡張・強化したことである。当初予想していたフィールドワークからの成果は微弱だったものの、海外の学者達と互恵的な研究交流を行うことで、既存のデータの精度と密度を高めることが出来た。これは今後の研究において必ず役にたつものであり、今後の研究の発展のための基盤を確保した点で有意義な成果であると思われる。三つ目は、言語進化の研究を起点にし、文化進化全般に研究を展開するための材料を手に入れたことである。平成２６年度から２７年度にかけて、海外の共同研究者達の連携し、日本語族とマオリ語（ニュージーランド原住民の言語）から収集した民話のデータを確保した。現在も様々な角度から分析を行っている段階で、年度内に発表するまでは至らなかったものの、言語系統の研究を今後文化全般に展開していく際に役にたつ貴重なデータであることを考えると有意義な成果であると思われる。
