うつ病は多因子により発症し、遺伝、環境、人格要因などの関与が指摘されている。私たちは以前に、一般成人において、幼少期ストレス、気質、成人期ストレスの３因子の抑うつ症状に対する複雑な相互関係を共分散構造解析で解析した。その結果、幼少期ストレスは抑うつ・循環・不安・焦燥の4気質を介して抑うつ症状を増強し、気質は直接に成人期ストレスの感受性と抑うつ症状を増強することが明らかになった。しかし、抑うつ症状発現に対して、幼少期ストレスとどの気質が相互に影響しあうのか、あるいは、どの気質と成人期ストレスが相互に影響しあうのかは、共分散構造解析で解析することができなかった。そこで、一般成人において、幼少期ストレスと気質、成人期ストレスと気質の抑うつ症状に対する正（増強する）あるいは負（減弱する）の交互作用を重回帰分析によって検討した。発揚気質自体は抑うつ症状には影響しなかったが、幼少期ストレスや成人期ストレスによる抑うつ症状増強を発揚気質は緩和した。一方、抑うつ気質と焦燥気質はそれ自体が抑うつ症状を増強するとともに、幼少期ストレスや成人期ストレスによる抑うつ症状増強をさらに増強した。以上の結果から、抑うつ気質と焦燥気質は個体の脆弱性と、発揚気質は個体のレジリアンスと関連している可能性が示唆された。共分散構造解析の重相関係数の平方和が0.41だったことから、幼少期ストレス、気質、ライフイベントストレス以外にも抑うつ・不安症状に影響を与える因子があると考え、一般成人800名を対象に質問紙を実施した。現在、解析中である。
