项目摘要

本年度は第一に，本研究の目的の一つである「英国の女王」といった名詞表現に関する研究が進捗した．前年度より継続して，こうした表現に関する日本語話者の直観を調べる大規模な実験を哲学者・経済学者と共同で実施し（参加者約1000人），その結果，日本語話者と英語話者の間に実質的な差異が存在しない可能性が示された．これは，ことばの意味に関して東洋人・西洋人の間に差異があるとする実験哲学分野において広く受容されている主張を覆す可能性を持った重要な結果であり，国際誌に投稿・採択された．また，「花子」といった固有名の意味に関して，理論的考察と実験的調査双方を行った．一般的に，固有名は単一の人物・ものを指示する単純な表現として分析されるが，本研究では固有名は複合的な表現であり，文中において他の表現に依存し複数の人物・ものを指示する，という立場を検討した．英語話者を対象とした実験では，これまでの通説に反する結果を得ることができた．またこの立場は，発達心理学や言語哲学的側面から検討しても健全な立場であるとする議論を構築し，国内外で発表を行った．第二に，本研究のスコープに含まれる，名詞以外の，文脈にその内容が依存する表現の性質も検討した．例えば，日本語の欲求を表す表現である「たい」に焦点を当てた研究を言語学者と共同で行った．「たい」は ‘want’ よりもより制約された意味内容を持つことが判明し，その差異を説明する可能な分析を提示した．また，ヘイトスピーチや侮蔑表現といった，人間の言語活動の負の側面における言語表現の分析を開始した．特に「死ね」という暴言の意味・統語的性質を検討し，その特徴を説明することができる意味論をスケッチした．

For the first time in this year, the purpose of this study is to make progress in the study of noun performance related to "Queen of England."
