项目摘要

本研究の目的は、12世紀に制作された絵巻の諸作例がいかなる文脈において制作されたのか考察し、改めてその美術史上の位置付けを提示することにある。今年度は、前年度に引き続き《彦火々出見尊絵巻》に関する研究を行った。ただし、前年度とは着眼点を変え、同絵巻巻一第一段の海辺の場景の表現に着目して考察を進めた。その結果として、本段の場景には名所としての住吉のイメージが投影されていた蓋然性が高いことを明らかにするに至った。この成果に基づき、平成29年6月、日本宗教文化史学会全国大会において口頭発表を行い、その後新たな知見を加味して執筆した論文を、同年8月に『日本宗教文化史研究』へ投稿した。この論文は査読を経て、同誌21巻2号に掲載された。また、《伴大納言絵巻》の制作背景について、その比較対象として「後三年絵」（後白河院の命により制作。原本残らず）を取り上げて検討を行った。検討の結果として、同絵巻には、その制作当時において没落していた源氏とは対照的に、朝廷に奉仕することによって繁栄を極める平氏の武力を顕彰するという性格が付与されていた可能性を提示した。この成果は、平成29年11月の美術史学会西支部例会において口頭発表済みである。さらに上述の「後三年絵」の院政期絵巻における位置について、その転写本と目される《後三年合戦絵巻》（東京国立博物館）に見られる古様な絵画表現を手掛かりとして、考察を行った。この成果に基づき、平成29年12月の中国美術研究会にて口頭発表を行った。この発表内容に新たな知見を加味して、平成30年6月に学会誌『美術史』に論文を投稿する予定である。
