项目摘要

今年度の主な成果は,"Producing the organizational space: Buddhist temples as co-working spaces"である。本論文は，現象学と組織論との関係に着目したOxford University Pressのハンドブックに掲載された。本論文の目的は，寺院を活用したコワーキングの関係者の実践によって当該空間がどのように生成されたかを明らかにすることである。具体的に，寺コワーキングの立案・運営者と利用者の経験に関する聞き取り調査と公表資料をもとに，当該スペースがどのように認知・設計され，実際に利用されたか，また利用者の実践により当該空間がどのように再生成されたか，が検討された。主な結果は次の通りである。まず，寺コワーキングは，登録ワーカーと直接交流する場を求めていた在宅就労支援事業者とその知人の住職という寺院空間に関する知識や経験に大きな差異がある立案者によって共創された。寺院に馴染みのなかった利用者は当該空間を肯定的に捉え，場や状況に即した体勢や振る舞いをもとに心地良い空間を経験・形成していった。また，立案・運営者の想定を超えて，利用者は仕事空間としてだけでなく，地域の人々が集い交わる社会的空間としての寺院の可能性（寺院の存在意義に関わり，かつて地域共同体で広く認知されていた）を見出した。さらに，利用者は，広大で隅々まで美しく整えられ，歴史や伝統を帯びた畳などの建材や仏具などから成る非日常的空間に新鮮さや心地良さを感じ取る一方，（非日常的あるいは聖的であるがゆえに）そこで生成される雰囲気を通して自らの居住まいを意識的・無意識的に正そうともしていた。本成果の意義は，コミュニティ型ワークスペースに関する経験的研究が不十分ななか，仕事実践や組織スペースの再考や精緻化に資する知見を提示したことである。
