项目摘要

寺社縁起、地誌、俳書を中心に、「天狗説話」という観点から調査、研究を行った。鎌倉時代成立の絵巻『是害房絵』と、愛宕山の寺社縁起、古浄瑠璃「あたごの本地」本文の関係を分析した。具体的には古浄瑠璃正本の注釈を進めた。すなわち芸能資料を「説話資料」として扱うことにより説話受容史のなかで位置づけていくことを目指した。特に本年は、「あたごの本地」の背景となる愛宕社信仰に関して調査を進め、研究会報告を重ねた。この成果は『京都精華大学人文学部紀要』において公開予定である。さらに、天狗説話以外にも、中世末期から近世にかけての伝承の受容と展開に注目することで、視野をひろく持ち、今後の研究計画に大きな指針を持った。特に、国際日本文化研究センター大衆文化プロジェクトの一環として、国際日本文化研究センター所蔵の『酒呑童子絵巻』『道成寺縁起絵巻』２本、『土蜘蛛草子』の調査を行い、現代語訳を行った。その成果はウェブ漫画コンテンツ『ComicWalker』（https://comic-walker.com/）に無料公開され、大塚英志監修・山本忠宏編『まんが訳酒呑童子絵巻』（ちくま新書、2020）として公刊された。今後の研究は具体的な説話の分析を積み重ねていく必要があり、さらなる調査を必要とするが、10月から就職にともない特別研究員の職位を辞退したため、改めて2020年から採択された科研費若手研究「16・17世紀説話資料における「怪異説話」の継承と展開」に継続したい。また2月からの新型コロナウィルス感染症拡大の影響により資料調査が大きく制限されてしまった。今後計画を見直し、次の研究に継続させたい。
