项目摘要

本研究は、英語母語話者と第二言語学習者の言語的特徴の差異が言語接触量に起因するか否かを検証しており、言語接触量を語彙サイズで数値化した。本年度は、次年度に引き続き視線計測実験と語彙性判断課題実験を行った。コロナ禍で留学を控えていた英語母語話者もやっと留学してくるようになり、徐々に実験参加者を増やすことができた。さらに、母語の影響を見るため、ドイツ人英語学習者も実験参加者に加えて、実験を実施した。実験当初は、語彙レベルでの言語的特徴の差異を取り上げていたが、それを発展させて定型表現にまで実験対象を増やした。以下に、本研究で実施した３実験を示す。①言語的特徴として頻度と語長を対象に、英語母語話者と日本人英語学習者の比較をアイトラッキング実験で調査した。その結果、頻度効果も語長効果も学習者の方がより強い影響を受けることが明らかになった。②言語的特徴として頻度を取り上げ、英語母語話者、日本人英語学習者およびドイツ人英語学習者を対象に、語彙性判断課題を実施した。現在、英語母語話者と日本人英語学習者の比較分析しか行っていないが、アイトラッキング実験同様、日本人英語学習者の方が頻度効果の影響を受けることが分かった。さらに、語彙サイズだけでは、この差異を説明できないことが明らかになった。③言語的特徴として連語表現を対象に、英語母語話者、日本人英語学習者およびドイツ人英語学習者に、語彙性判断課題を実施した。その結果、日本人もドイツ人の実験協力者も母語話者より連語表現の頻度に影響を受けることが分かった。さらに、語彙サイズ以外の要因も起因する可能性が明らかになった。今後は、語彙サイズの指標として採用したテスト（LexTALE）の妥当性や他の要因（例　親密度）などを加えて検証する必要性が指摘された。
