本研究の目的は，9世紀から10世紀にかけての敦煌オアシスを対象として，イスラーム化以前の中央ユーラシア・オアシス地域における仏教と社会の関係を，文書史料および石窟寺院の銘文・図像資料から復元しようとするものである。本年度は以下の研究を進めた。(1) これまでの調査成果や学会報告内容を整理し，10世紀の敦煌を支配した曹氏帰義軍節度使の功臣号の編年とその歴史的背景を考察し，論文として発表した。一般に功臣号とは唐・宋代において皇帝から有功の臣下に下賜される称号だが，帰義軍節度使は中国王朝の認可なしに独自に功臣号の運用をしていたこと，敦煌においては仏教石窟の供養人題記に集中して現れることを明らかにした。また，独立オアシス国家の支配者たる曹氏節度使がこのような功臣号を積極的に使用した背景として，当時の敦煌においては対中交易を重視しており中国王朝との関係を維持するために形式的に功臣号を使用したという見通しを述べた。(2) 10世紀半ばから後半期にかけて，特定の帰義軍節度使の時代には，敦煌石窟には集中的に節度使の供養人像が現れる。この歴史背景については世俗と教団の社会的関係や節度使の宗教的役割の変化が夙に指摘されているが改めてこれらの点について考察するとともに，帳簿史料をもとに節度使の造窟活動の復元を行った。(3) 前年度と同様に今年度も新型コロナウィルスによる影響により海外調査は実施できなかったが，中国学界の動向や関連史料・遺跡などの情報収集に努めた。

The purpose of this study is to reconstruct the relationship between culture and society, document and historical materials, and the data of gold inscriptions and images of grottoes and monasteries before the transformation of Dunhuang culture from the 9th century to the 10th century. This year, the following research will be carried out. (1)The results of the investigation and the contents of the report of the society are sorted out. The background of the chronology of the meritorious officials of Cao's Jiedushi in Dunhuang in the 10th century is investigated. The paper is presented. The title of meritorious minister was awarded to the emperor of Tang Dynasty in Song Dynasty, and the title of meritorious minister was awarded to the governor of Yijun in China Dynasty. The independent state ruler Cao Jiedushi actively used the background and the Dunhuang Dynasty attached great importance to the transaction of China Dynasty. (2)In the second half of the 10th century, the special era of the Jiedushi of the Yijun Army was reversed, and the portraits of the Jiedushi of Dunhuang Grottoes were concentrated. The historical background of this article is the relationship between the secular and religious activities of the jiedushi. (3)In the past year, the same year, the impact of new types of cultural relics on overseas investigation, the trend of China academic circles, the collection of related historical materials and relics, and the collection of information.
