项目摘要

本研究は、サンスクリット伝統文法学における属格語尾の意味論を包括的に考究し、その内実を明らかにしようとするものである。サンスクリット文法家たちによれば、属格語尾の主要な意味は「関係」である。問題はこの「関係」とは一体そもそも何なのか、「関係」にはどのような種類があり、そのうちどの「関係」が属格語尾の意味として認められるのか、ということにある。2022年度は以下の作業を行った。まず、パーニニが属格語尾の用法を規定する規則1.1.49を中心に後代の文法学文献を渉猟し、属格語尾の本質に議論を丹念に追った。また、先行訳を批判的に検討しつつ、バルトリハリ『文章単語論』における「関係論詳解」の確認を完了した。同じく、先行訳を批判的に検討しつつ、バルトリハリ『文章単語論』における「能成者詳解」の「関係」部の確認を完了した。最も大きな成果としては、上述した規則1.1.49を含め、パーニニ文典第1章第1節に対する訳注研究を『東京大学言語学論集』に公表できたことである。この箇所は、文法規則の解釈の前提となる術語規則や解釈規則が多く居並ぶ箇所であり、その正しい理解はパーニニ文法学の理解にとって大きな比重を占める。そのような箇所の要点をすべて網羅した本訳注研究は、今後の文法学研究にとって欠かすことのできない資料となる。
