项目摘要

本年度は日本における全てのゲーム関連企業およそ800社を対象に、アンケート調査を実施した。その分析結果から以下が明らかとなった。まず、プラットフォームの技術・市場の既存・新規の違いによって、真っ先に参加する補完者の深化・探索の重視の程度が異なることが示された。具体的には、技術か市場のいずれかに既存性を残すプラットフォームを提供した場合は深化を重視する補完者が初期に参加し、いずれも新規とした場合には探索を重視する補完者が初期に参加することが示唆された。つまり、エコシステムレベルでの両利きという点では、深化・探索をそれぞれ重視する補完者両方を誘引するプラットフォームの形態は確認されなかったといえる。このことから、エコシステムの集合的両利きを達成するうえでは、技術・市場のいずれかが既存である領域と、両方新規の領域とを、一つのプラットフォーム上で両立させなければならないことが示唆された。本成果は日本MOT学会年次研究発表会において発表した。また、エコシステムにおけるイノベーションの発生に関連する観点である「外的情報源」に着目した分析においては、深化的行動の程度が強い補完者、さらには自社開発・受託開発の程度とともに深化的行動がより高い補完者は、より外的情報源を重視するようになることが確認された。一方で、探索的行動を重視する場合にこういった傾向は見られなかった。このことは、補完者が外的情報源からイノベーションを引き出すという点では、探索的行動を重視する補完者よりも深化的行動を重視する補完者の方が重要であることが示唆された。このことはプラットフォームエコシステムにおけるイノベーションの両利きを理解するうえでの新たな知識であり、この研究領域を拡張するものである。本成果は次年度に開催される組織学会研究発表会において受理されており、発表を予定している。
