项目摘要

本研究は、ドイツに在住する日本の若者を対象として、定住へ向けた移住プロセスを、日本人コミュニティの互助機能との関係から探るものである。移住プロセスとは移住の決断から定住までの一連の流れを意味するが、ワーキングホリデー、留学、現地採用、国際結婚等に伴う滞在カテゴリの中には、期間の限定があるものが含まれる。滞在カテゴリの選択がどのような要因を受けてなされるか、また滞在の長期化に向けてカテゴリ間の移行がいかに生じるかを明らかにするには、入国管理行政のようなホスト国の制度的条件のほか、移民が利用できるエスニックな資源等についても検討する必要がある。具体的な研究方法としては、日系企業が集中し、日本人在住者の多いデュッセルドルフに在住する日本人を対象にした調査を実施した。本年度はオンラインを通じた情報収集を行い、過去に収集したデータと合わせて分析を行った。ドイツは相対的にカテゴリの変更による滞在延長がしやすく、定住へのプロセスを観察しやすい場所となっている。中でも日本人コミュニティが比較的安定して存在するデュッセルドルフには、ドイツ国内およびEU諸国だけでなく、アジア諸国からも日本人が移住していることがわかった。ただし、この日本人コミュニティも時代とともにその役割と活動内容が変化しており、新たな世代の移住者を受け入れながら、インフォーマルな互助活動として求められる内容が変容しつつあることが明らかになった。これまでに得た知見を踏まえ、第95回日本社会学会大会において口頭報告を行った。また、『日中社会学研究』第30号に論文が掲載された。
